YCAAA ANNOUNCES DRIVE-THRU FLU SHOT SCHEDULE

 

     The York-Adams County Immunization Coalition, with partners:  WellSpan Health, Memorial Hospital, York City Bureau of Health and York County Area Agency on Aging, will be offering FLU shots to York County residents 9 years of age and older. PNEUMONIA shots will also be available for eligible older adults.  This year there will be two “Drive-Thru” Flu Shot clinics. 

     The first “drive-thru” clinic will be held from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the York ExpoCenter.  The second “drive-thru” clinic will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the ManchesterTownship Municipal Office.  During these “Roll In-Roll Up-Roll Out” clinics, eligible residents will drive to the designated location, roll down the car window, complete the necessary paperwork, roll up their sleeve, receive their vaccine and roll out, all without getting out of their vehicle.

     There is no pre-registration for the clinic.  However, the registration form can be completed before the clinic and brought along to expedite the registration process.  The 2010 Immunization Registration form can be downloaded from the ‘Forms and Documents’ page of this website.

     Medicare will cover the cost of the shot for those enrolled in Medicare Part B.  The Medicare card must be shown at the clinic.  The following Medicare Advantage Plans will also be accepted at the clinics:  Aetna Medicare, Gateway Medicare Assured, Geisinger Gold, Health America-Advantra, Highmark Freedom Blue PPO, Humana Gold PFFS, Humana Choice PPO (only on 10/24), Prime Health (only on 10/24), Senior Blue PPO, Sterling PFFS (only on 10/24), Today’s Option American Progressive, Today’s Option by CCRx PFFS, and Unison Advantage.  The Medicare Advantage card must also be shown at the clinic. 

     The following insurance will NOT be accepted at the clinics:  Medigap or Supplemental Insurance, Private Health Insurance, Employee Health Insurance and Medicare Advantage Plans not listed above. 

     Persons without Medicare Part B or an accepted Medicare Advantage Plan will be asked to pay a discount rate of $25.00 payable by cash or check for the flu shot. 

     YCAAA will maintain a 24-hour Information Line at (717) 771-9001 that will provide up-to-date information on the status of the scheduled flu clinics and current information on eligibility criteria and private pay costs.
